All Omamori has been consecrated in religious ritual and are available in the shrine 7 days a week from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, throughout the year.

Most orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail for a flat rate of $9.70 (with Tracking number).  Priority Mail envelope holds about 10 regular sized omamori (no salt or sand). Salt, sand, and larger quantities will be sent in the appropriate Flat Rate envelope or box. Please confirm postage before ordering.

We do not mail Hamaya, Hamayumi, Medium or Large Kumade. We do not mail to Foreign countries. 

Small-sized Kumade postal rates are $19.05 for USPS Domestic Priority.

Kiyome-jio Consecrated Salt

Salt has a long and influential role in world history. For many countries, including both the Hawaiian and Japanese cultures, salt has been a key factor in spiritual, economic and social development. In the Shinto tradition, salt is used to repel negative energies,. Salt is most often used as morijio, a compound of the Japanese words for “pile” (mori) and “Salt” (shio, jio).

Purified salt is piled on a small dish and placed in the home, outside the door of a home or business or mixed with sand and sprinkled around the perimeter of the home. Salt is also placed outside of a restaurant or shop to attract customers.   If salt is to be placed in front of the door of a home or business, be sure to place two dishes od salt, one on each side of the door.This salt has been consecrated in ritual and should be changed once a month if placed in a dish and used as morijio.

Placing salt in the house is highly recommended for those who have just moved into a new home, going through their Yakudoshi years or through challenging times.
