Congratulations on the opening of Takenoko Sushi !!!
Reverend Takizawa blessed Takenoko Sushi, a new restaurant in Hilo on April 8. Owners Arashi and Pam Igarashi are long-time shrine volunteers that moved back to Hilo last year. So, when in Hilo, be sure to stop by Takenoko Sushi in the new Manono Marketplace, across Big Island Candies. arashi's pursuit of perfection will leave your tastebuds in awe.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to Ricky Tamashiro and Ian Tamashiro for their many hours volunteering to repair the concrete stairs and walkway. Many thanks also go out to Kimo Scott of OK Hardware for their donation of materials.
On 2/16/2013, 4 Japanese nationals entered the shrine and stole approximately $1000 worth of omamori. They left $2 in 3 envelopes, totalling $6.00.
A police report was filed and the 6 one dollar bills were submitted to HPD as evidence.
